"Little Fish"
Inspired by her nearest & dearest, Minnie slid onto a surfboard early on in life, finding fun in the moana. Her admiration for nature kept her engaged and started to influence her creativity; with how she rides and writes music. The environments surrounding her; the sky, mountains and marine life are constant reminders to practice gratitude and feel the stoke.

Expression through music.
From day dot, melodies flowed through Minnie’s whānua whāre. It wasn’t before long that a guitar was picked up and a pen met paper. Song writing became an outlet of expression. This interest led to a blossoming friendship and the foundation of Aotearoa’s newest indie-dream pop band. Front women; Minnie and Nat joined forces with Gus and Joel to create There’s a Tuesday. From the beginning “it felt so good, and then it felt even better”. For Minnie, those initial feelings of making music together are the focal point of creation and what they stay connected to.

Celebrating Community.
Sliding and gliding with fellow wāhine, especially at The Mingle, Minnie describes as being an ‘inexplicably cool’ feeling. It’s about sharing stoke and collectively immersing in the present moment.

With Gratitude.
We are stoked to have had the opportunity to be welcomed into Minnie’s world. A big kia ora to Minnie and the Robberds whānau for inviting us into their home. Collaborating with The Single Fin Mingle and showcasing this short film at the annual Mingle Film Festival was a special experience. Chur to There’s a Tuesday for letting us feature their music in this production. And finally a BIG thank you to filmmaker Jono Smit, a true legend to work with.
